Rick Scott announced. The Sunshine State tied with Georgia for its growth rate in private-sector jobs at 3.2 percent, and outpaced the nation's rate of 1.7 percent for the fifth consecutive year. “Month after month, Florida’s economy continues to outpace growth in other top competitor states, like California and Texas," Scott said. "Florida’s manufacturing industry is also leading the nation in job creation, which is a testament to our focus on diversifying our economy." Scott touted job-creating economic development programs including Visit Florida and Enterprise Florida, whose funding is being threatened by the Florida Legislature. "Any efforts by the Legislature to reduce funding for these programs will have a significant negative impact on businesses and families across our state," Scott said.
