The goals and objectives of the Clay County Board of County Commissioners directly relates to its mission to provide for the quality of life, safety and health of the County's citizens. The Commission is committed to a vision of a better tomorrow and the best possible today to make Clay County a place we can all be proud of. The Board of County Commissioners is the law-making body of the county operating under the Home Rule charter since 1991. Charter powers address self-government which can not conflict with general law or special law approved by the voters of the County. The County is governed by a five member Board elected as single-member districts for terms of four years.
